RSVP
Your Invitation to Volunteer!
From to one-on-one tutoring
to serving on a nonprofit board
to helping seniors with their home repairs –
or whatever YOU want to do!

For more than three decades, RSVP has been the catalyst for volunteering
in Lake County, Ohio, matching volunteers 55 and older with Lake
County non-profit agencies.
Today, nearly 1,000 volunteers use the services of RSVP/Lake County
to find the ideal match for their talents, energy, and desires for
helping others and our community.
Prospective senior volunteers come to us with their “wish
list” – ways they want to help – and our professional
staff matches them with projects and/or agencies for useful and
fulfilling experiences. And, we continually monitor our agencies
to make sure each volunteer's experience is working for all.
As Lake County's “Premier Executive Volunteer Placement Agency”
(as one of our volunteers called us), we've placed experience and
energetic people in positions from board members to helpers in food
banks; from one-shot services to long term helping.
And, because we're attuned to people who may be retired but not
retiring, we work around snowbird schedules and vacations –
none of our volunteers ever needs to feel tied down or obligated
to give up family needs and desires.
Volunteers are in good company. The Independent Sector, in 2002
reported that 44 percent of adults over the age of 21 volunteered
with a formal organization.
RSVP/Lake County is part of a nationwide movement. Besides RSVP,
the Corporation for National and Community Service’s participants
include Senior Corps, Americorps, and Learn and Serve America. Together,
they have improved the lives of millions of our most vulnerable
citizens by helping children learn to read, caring for the frail
elderly, rebuilding communities struck by disasters, transforming
failing schools and revitalizing communities, though director service
and by mobilizing millions of additional volunteers.
So, consider this your invitation to find our more about volunteering
and RSVP of Lake County. We are open Monday–Friday, 7 am.
